Our Fundraising Project

This year, we're once again fundraising to help disadvantaged young people in Bangalore, India.

All ages are welcome to participate but we especially encourage young people to be involved.

All the money raised this year will help fund health workers to work in the slums of Bangalore, schooling for the poorest children in the slums and Jacob's well tailoring unit which provides vocational training for destitute women.

Jacob's Well is a vocational training unit for the marginalised communities often located around the slums of Bangalore. Young people from these communities, particulaly young women, are often denied the basic rights to education, employment and a life of dignity. It provides for people, especially young women, from the most difficult circumstances to develop their talent, skill and self-worth to find suitable employment after their training. It empowers and develops the full potential of a young individual irrespective of their social, cultural, economic or religious background.
Some of the Jacobs Well products will be displayed in our Crackerteria.

The youth development programme reaches out to slum communities in Bangalore. Young people from these communities live in extreme poverty and often face challenges which drive them to risky behaviours. This can lead to unemployment, adolescent health related problems, drug or alcohol addiction or imprisonment. The programme is designed to cater for their total development of mind, body, and spirit, and the youth are engaged in activities, training sessions and sports each day. Those attending the progamme show progress within days. They have a changed attitude to life, are more confident and have more self worth.

Why Bangalore?

One of the reasons we choose projects in Bangalore is because they really, really need it.
Here are some facts that might give you some more information on what life is like Bangalore.

As you can see, every penny we collect this year will be put to great use.
Please, support us and participate in this year's project.
Thank you.
